How come France is front page in the Oregonian, but I only heard about the massive student protesting here in the States because I have a fascination with listening to community radio during pledge drives?
I'll fully admit that I am not as informed as I should be, but still.
Oh, and immigration laws suck. Simplistic? Yes. Just as much as lines on a map making you illegal.

Okay Portland, I'ma take a stand on this transit stupidity.
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING?
The transit here WORKS. You've already got a goddamn (kinda ludicrously redundant, but anyway) streetcar that goes to PSU. And buses. Why does the light rail have to go there too?
OH RIGHT IT DOESNT.
Have you ever been to Chicago? I have! And guess what sucks? ( besides the blackhawks )

"Diary-X has suffered from an unrecoverable drive failure. Due to a combination of issues, the last backup (from December 2004) contained only configuration files and other non-essential files. We do not have any other backups for the site. All journals, user information, forum posts, templates, images, and everything else are all irrecoverably lost."
For those of you who just met me this year, my first online journal (that was not hand coded on geocities of all places)--from about 2000 until only a few months ago--was on diary-x. It was the journal I kept the most, the one I kept the best. I locked it a few months ago, but I could still read it, of course.

*******
i was going to write an explanation for the new lockdown, but then i realized i kinda did. suffice to say, i want to leave LJ again, and it isn't to be dramatic or to avoid or to whatever. really i just wanted to finally/fully decide, and i know i would never fully decide to stay.
i left up the saxamaphone and geetar posts, in case anyone wants to help me out.
i'll be around for commenting, maybe with a new name so i can friend the people i read all the time, as a time saving gesture, and to just post on what i'm up to. then again, if i am posting comments then i am reading and still around, so...who knows.
be well.

Maybe You Can Owe Me - Architecture In Helsinki |
] |
Okay, so I have an audition for the old people marching band, which makes me 86904 kinds of excited.
the problem is that my saxamaphone lives in chicago still, and i'm not about to ask jamey1138 to send it, for many reasons.
So, Portland peeps: any recommendations on where to rent a Tenor Sax from, for a short period of time? Or do you know anyone who could lend me one?
The audition is on February 7th.
Also, I recommend against jet lag, as I went to bed at 7am and slept until 6pm. Ooops. Too bad i've been up for 6 hours and gotten nothing done--double oops. Stupid internets.

From the blog of the NCAA pool I am part of:
"Jim W. continues his dominance to this point and has pulled 45 points in front of 2nd-place Chris Timberlake. Jim gets $10 for winning yet another round. Jim also has a 50% chance of winning the pool, which really isn't high enough actually considering how dominant he's been. His right half of the bracket was nearly flawless, and his was 1 of only 2 brackets with Michigan State in the Final 4 (props to Jonathan Hawkins for being the other). However, Jim's pick of Louisville to win it all has put him in the position of still possibly not even making the top 5. Jim still needs Louisville to beat Illinois in order to win the pool, unless Illinois were to end up losing to Michigan State in the final. (see the what-ifs discussion below)."
Can you see why I am excited?
I just posted this as a comment in the blog for the pool:
You know, maybe people are wondering. I didn't pick Illinois on principle, for one reason that I have contended all along (ask Sammy): Illinois chokes. And if that fundamental truth is why I lose? I'm okay with that. So really, I am the biggest State fan on the planet right now, eh? An all Big Ten final would be really, really weird.
